Parallel Action Film

I came up with the idea to have another sort of stalker/prankster film because I really enjoyed the last film I had made about a stalker and wanted to continue this idea. This time you would get to see the stalker following the person behind the scenes instead of just seeing the person who was being stalked's point of view.  I executed this idea by still showing the person who was being stalked, but I also filmed parts where the stalker/prankster was tricking the person to think that their mind was playing tricks on them. I think I can improve next time by adding even more scenes, making the film be more exciting and nerve-racking.

Every time I watch movies, I see this sort of parallel action, I just never knew what it was called or how to actually film it. Now that I am learning all these new ways to film different scenes it inspires me to almost make a real film. I feel like I am a movie producer, producing this huge blockbuster film. Using what we have learned so far (180 degree rule, cutting on action, switching angles up, and now this parallel action) I think I have learned a lot on how to really make a film come together. I have a lot of fun doing it too, which always makes something more enjoyable.

When planning for this film, I first started off with a screenplay. I came up with the idea of someone pulling a prank on another person because it is pretty close to Halloween, one of the few days of the year that is meant for pranking people. I started off with one boy hiding another boys cereal because that is something I do on a regular day basis with my family. I then continued to build a story around that, making the kid think that he was loosing his mind. I then created a story board, which I put all my different shots in and decided which angle and shot type each shot would be.

I think the most successful part of the project was the parallel action part because I think I was really able to capture the idea of having two different things going on at the same time. Overall, I think I learned many ways to make this film interesting and suspenseful!
