Camera Movement Reflection

Image
In this film, the main focus was camera movement. There are many different types of movements that you can use while filming to help create a certain type of scene. For example, using a hand-held camera movement might mean that the scene has something to do with action or running.      One camera movement that I used was a dolly camera movement. I sat on a rolling chair and had someone push me, as if I was slowly approaching the actor without walking. It created this cool slow motion affect.      Another camera movement I used was the pedestal movement, moving the camera from high to low. This was an interesting movement because you really had to be careful when holding the camera so that it would be a very slow and steady movement.      Once he finishes drinking water and says "okay, let's do this" I decided to use a zoom camera movement by zooming in on his face. This created a pretty cool shot from movi...

Camera Movements

Image
First I chose a zoom movement. I chose this "yeah baby, yeah" seen because it zooms in on Austin Powers after he says the line, to make it a funny situation. There is a pause after he says this line and then the camera zooms in on him, almost like they are trying to separate the two parts.    For this scene, I was unable to find an actual video upload from YouTube so I am putting the link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQQgUMpXiKo  As you can see, I have chose a hand-held camera movement during the chase. Using this technique, they were really able to make this scene come to life adding the action and the movement of the camera itself. This also created a shaky feeling, which is what the actors probably felt when running during this scene too. We also see the rack focus movement during this scene too, when James is in the car looking at the chase. For my last movement, I am choosing the crane or boom shot. We see this when all of the avengers come together. We...

Editing Practice

I felt that it was very tricky to have pieces come together that I wasn't so sure were supposed to come together in the way that I put them. Overall though, I had to make it work and found that once the entire film came together, it ended up looking pretty good. I found the new information very interesting and useful. I was able to put pieces together by determining the place, sound, and other objects that may have been in the background. I also found it helpful how the videos taken for each shot were well done and that there were certain parts where the angles and shot types changed. I think that I made a very good film using the tools that I had available and I am very happy with the final result.
