Winter's Bone Mise en Scene

In class, we watched Winter's Bone. I found the film to be very interesting, but I would not consider this to be a film I'd watch again. I did not like the setting nor the lighting of the film. I found the setting very boring as it was just the trees with dead leaves. I thought the darkened light hurt the film as it just made everything so much more subtle and boring. I also did not like how quiet the film was. I felt that you had to figure much out on your own just by watching without much listening. Although I did not like the film very much, these are some pretty cool shots I posted down below. The first shows much Mise en Scene using the color tone, and the set design. Here, we see clothes hanging on the line, a bike in the back, and lastly nothing but hills and the woods. The second shot has a very cool framing using a bit of symmetry as well.
